Three minors are in custody following a series of break-ins at several booths in the Festival Village on Suoaliga Road, 721news Sint Maarten reports. The incidents took place in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Video footage of the break-ins spread across social media shortly after the incident. A parent who recognized her son in the footage brought him to the police station the same day. The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) subsequently arrested the minor.
On Monday, September 14, two more parents came forward after identifying their sons in connection with the break-in. Both minors were arrested and are being held at the police station pending further investigation.
KPSM confirmed all three suspects are minors and stated it will not release any information that could lead to their identification.
A fourth suspect believed to be involved in the break-ins has not yet been apprehended. The investigation remains active.
KPSM praised the parents who voluntarily brought their children to police, describing their cooperation as an example of the role the community can play in supporting law enforcement.
