Armed robbery at Middletown filling station bureau de change under PSNI investigation

A masked gunman held up a bureau de change at a filling station on the Monaghan Road in Middletown around 1pm yesterday. The PSNI is appealing for dash-cam footage and witness information.

Google News IE — Crime (en) reports that police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a filling station bureau de change on the Monaghan Road in Middletown, on the Monaghan/Armagh border, which took place around 1pm yesterday afternoon.

A man with his hood up and face covered entered the premises armed with what officers believe to have been a small handgun. He demanded cash from an employee before fleeing in a blue Volkswagen Passat. The amount taken has not been confirmed.

PSNI officers attended the scene and spoke with the employee, who was unharmed but shaken by the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing and the PSNI is asking anyone with information — including dash-cam or other footage — to contact them by calling 101.
