Banned driver caught nearly three times drink-drive limit in Warrington

Repeat disqualified driver sentenced at Warrington Magistrates' Court

Warringtonguardian.co.uk reports that a repeat offender who was previously spared jail for driving while banned has been back before the courts — this time caught nearly three times over the legal drink-drive limit.

Jakub Fullmueller, 38, of Folly Lane in Bewsey, was stopped by Cheshire Police on Myrtle Grove in Latchford on 23 November last year. A breath test recorded a reading of 96 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath — almost three times the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.

Checks on his vehicle confirmed he was disqualified from driving at the time and held no insurance. He was charged with drink-driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without third-party insurance.

Fullmueller pleaded guilty to all three offences at an earlier hearing. Prosecutor Umer Zeb set out the facts at Warrington Magistrates' Court, where District Judge Ian Barnes concluded the offending was serious enough to warrant a custodial term.

Barnes nonetheless stopped short of imposing an immediate prison sentence. Fullmueller was handed 12 weeks in custody, suspended for 12 months. During that period he must complete a six-month alcohol treatment requirement and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days. He was also disqualified from driving for a further 45 months.

It is not the first time Fullmueller has appeared before the courts for driving while banned. He had previously avoided a jail term after crashing on a residential street while disqualified.
