Former X Factor singer faces attempted murder charge after nightclub car attack in London

Gabrielle Carrington, 29, a beauty influencer and former member of girl group Miss Dynamix, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on Tuesday charged with attempted murder, guyanachronicle.com reports. She is accused of driving her Mercedes into fellow influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska, 30, outside the Inca nightclub in Central London shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Carrington, who appeared on the British television programme The X Factor in 2013, spoke only to confirm her identity during the hearing. She faces four charges in total: attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and drink-driving.

Zakrzewska remained in a life-threatening condition as of Tuesday, according to the Metropolitan Police. Prosecutor Rizwan Amin told the court that she was "trapped and dragged" beneath Carrington's vehicle during the incident.

Video footage circulated on X allegedly shows Carrington and Zakrzewska exchanging blows in the street while onlookers film the confrontation. The footage then appears to show Carrington entering her car and driving into Zakrzewska, striking two other people in the process. The Mercedes then reverses back over Zakrzewska.

In security footage shown in court, Carrington is seen arriving at the scene before an "altercation" with a man, which allegedly "escalated to involve several other members of the public," the jury was told. Amin said Carrington returned to her car, which was then captured "immediately moving off and sharply mounting a pavement."

Zakrzewska, who is Polish-born and holds nearly 270,000 Instagram followers under the handle "klaudiaglam," was "trapped and dragged under the vehicle," Amin said. Her family was present in court on Tuesday.

Two other individuals were also injured in the incident. Security guard Anoush Chyche, in his 50s, was struck while unlocking an e-scooter nearby and suffered what Amin described as "life-changing injuries." A woman in her 30s, Latisha Armstrong, sustained a wrist injury.

Carrington, who is from Manchester, was found to be almost twice the legal alcohol limit when tested following the incident, Amin told the court.

Amin described the scene outside the nightclub as a "melee" with "lots of people shouting" when police arrived. "The full extent of the incident wasn't appreciated at the time officers had attended," he said. The dispute was reportedly ongoing, with the parties known to one another prior to the confrontation.

Carrington, who counts more than 365,000 Instagram followers under the handle "RIELLEUK," made a heart gesture toward friends and family in the public gallery as she appeared before the magistrate. She was remanded in custody. Her next scheduled court appearance is at the Old Bailey on May 19.
