Google News UK — Crime (en) reports that a Bradford drug dealer has been jailed for four and a half years after an investigation by West Yorkshire Police's county lines taskforce uncovered a crack cocaine and heroin supply line operating into Leeds.

Sadhiul Haque, 28, of Nottingham Street, Bradford, was linked by Operation Phoenix detectives to an active drugs line that sent out thousands of bulk text messages advertising Class A drugs for sale, primarily targeting the Pudsey area.

Officers moved on Haque's Bradford address in February of this year. Two mobile phones connected to the drugs line were seized inside the property, along with £1,520 in cash.

A search of Haque's VW Golf uncovered a key to a Vauxhall Corsa parked outside. Inside that vehicle, officers discovered quantities of crack cocaine and heroin with a combined street value of £2,360, much of it already divided into individual deals. Forensic analysis placed Haque's DNA on the packages.

He was charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, and with possession with intent to supply both drugs. Haque pleaded guilty to all offences and was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court.

Detective Inspector Helen Chapman, who leads Operation Phoenix, said: "Haque was found to be behind a Bradford-based drugs line that had been supplying crack cocaine and heroin into the Pudsey area of Leeds for some significant time."

Chapman added that the investigation "built up a detailed evidential picture that linked him solidly to these offences and saw him left with no option but to plead guilty at court."

She warned that the supply of Class A drugs "fuels acquisitive crime and violence in our communities and brings misery to the lives of individual users and their families," adding that the sentence should "serve as a warning to others."

Operation Phoenix, West Yorkshire Police's dedicated county lines unit, said it would continue to take a "robust proactive approach to disrupting and dismantling county lines drug dealing by targeting the individuals and organised crime groups behind it."
