Bus driver arrested after woman killed in Southampton road crash
A bus driver in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving after a pedestrian was fatally struck on Coxford Road, Southampton. He has since been released under investigation.

A 54-year-old bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and drug driving after a woman in her 50s was killed in a collision on Coxford Road, Southampton, The Sun reports.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police were called at 4.18pm on Thursday 8 October, following a report from the ambulance service of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, from Whiteley, was arrested but has since been released under investigation while further enquiries continue, a police spokesperson confirmed.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses. "We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision, and in particular anyone with relevant dash cam footage," the spokesperson said. "If you have any information, please call 101 quoting reference 44260494722."
