Google News UK — Crime (en) reports that a driver pulled over on the southbound A34 in Oxford was found carrying 21kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £1.5m.

Officers from Thames Valley Police's serious and organised crime unit stopped Adrian Adamowicz, 34, of Tunnel Hill, Worcester, on Saturday afternoon as part of a planned operation. The stop was carried out by the roads policing unit, with support from armed response officers and the dog section.

Adamowicz was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug. He also faces charges of acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property, driving without a valid licence, and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

He appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody. He is next due before Reading Crown Court on 21 September.

Det Sgt James Faithfull, of specialist operations, described the find as a "significant seizure".
