Google News UK — Crime (en) reports that a 22-year-old man from Barmouth, Gwynedd, appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday charged with four counts of possessing records containing information useful to terrorism.

Jac Glyn Edwards is alleged to have held four documents on his mobile phone that would likely be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

Prosecutor Christopher Amis told the preliminary hearing that the material allegedly included an IRA manual and a manual of urban guerrilla warfare.

A charge of possession of a firearm had previously been authorised but was discontinued before the Crown Court hearing, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

The case has been sent to Liverpool Crown Court, where a preliminary trial date has been set for October 2027. Edwards, who was placed on conditional bail, is due to appear at the same court on 6 November this year for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
