Man's earlobe bitten off in unprovoked attack at Chichester station car park

A man was assaulted by two men in a car park at Chichester railway station on 26 June. British Transport Police have released CCTV images seeking witnesses.

A man had his earlobe bitten off during a serious assault in the car park of Chichester railway station in West Sussex, according to British Transport Police (BTP). The Daily Express reports that the attack took place on Friday, 26 June, at around 7.20pm.

Two men are alleged to have set upon the victim in what BTP described as an unprovoked attack. During the incident, one of the assailants bit the victim's earlobe off, the force said in a statement released on Bank Holiday Monday.

Members of the public intervened to assist the victim, who was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

BTP has now released CCTV images of two men believed to hold information relevant to their investigation. Anyone who recognises the individuals is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 705 of 26 June. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
