A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital after suffering stab wounds at a residential address in Gillingham Road, Gillingham, on Friday 31 August at 6.08pm, kentonline.co.uk reports.

Police and paramedics attended the scene following reports of a serious assault. The victim sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, though he has since been discharged.

Investigators believe the victim knew his attacker. An inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.

A 33-year-old local woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been conditionally bailed pending further inquiries.
