A man in his 50s has been arrested following the death of a motorcyclist in Corringham, Essex Police confirmed, as reported by bbc.co.uk.
The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered fatal injuries in a collision on Southend Road at approximately 20:45 BST on Thursday. The arrested man, a local resident, was held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while over the prescribed drugs limit, and driving while unfit due to drink or drugs.
He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue, the force said.
Specialist officers have been providing support to the victim's family. Southend Road was closed for several hours in the aftermath of the collision before reopening in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police said they had already spoken to a number of witnesses. "We're continuing to appeal for anyone who captured it on dashcam or CCTV footage to please come forward," a police spokesman said.
