A teenager died and another suffered life-threatening injuries following violence on Brookhouse Road in Meir. Four people from Stoke-on-Trent have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Four held over fatal violence in Meir as teen dies and second fights for life

A man in his late teens was pronounced dead at the scene of a violent incident on Brookhouse Road in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, hellorayo.co.uk reports. A second man, also in his late teens, was taken to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical but stable condition.

Staffordshire Police received calls at 11.45pm on Friday 9 October following reports of violence in the area. Officers attended and four people were subsequently arrested the following morning.

Those arrested are:

Detective Inspector Katie Gregory, the senior investigating officer, said: "This is a devastating time for all those affected by what has happened overnight. I'd like to reassure the community that there is no wider risk to them and we are doing all we can to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident."

Gregory urged anyone who was in the area at around 11.30pm on Friday and has not yet spoken to police to come forward. Officers are also keen to obtain any relevant footage from members of the public.

A cordon remains in place at the scene while the investigation continues.
