Four men were left with stab wounds after a violent altercation on Bromley High Street on Thursday afternoon, Metropolitan Police confirmed, as reported by BBC News. Seven men have been arrested and remain in custody.

Officers were called to reports of an altercation at around 14:15hrs on 10 September. London Ambulance Service received the initial call at 2.19pm. Crews, a fast response paramedic, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and London's Air Ambulance were all dispatched to the scene.

Three of the four victims were taken to hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. A fourth man is in a critical condition, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

"Seven men were arrested and remain in custody," the force confirmed. "Police enquiries continue and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the public."

Images shared on X on Thursday afternoon appeared to show a section of the High Street cordoned off, with emergency vehicles on site. One local resident posted: "Been watching from my balcony! Endless sirens and all the various emergency services attending."

The AA confirmed that a section of the High Street was closed, with traffic moving slowly in the surrounding area. Some 15 bus routes were diverted as a result, including the 61, 208 and 119. Parts of Elmfield Road and Ethelbert Road were also shut, and Church House Gardens park was cordoned off.

Forensic officers and a crime scene photographer were seen working both inside and outside the KFC restaurant on the High Street, with evidence markers visible on the ground.

Bromley and Biggin Hill MP Peter Fortune addressed the incident via X, saying he was aware of residents' safety concerns. "The police are in attendance and have made a number of arrests," he wrote. "I will remain in close contact with the police as they continue to investigate this incident."
