Seven men have been arrested after four people were stabbed on Bromley High Street in south-east London on Thursday afternoon, bbc.com reports.
Officers were called to reports of an altercation at around 14:15hrs on 10 September. London Ambulance Service received the initial call at 2.19pm. Crews, a fast response paramedic, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and London's Air Ambulance were all dispatched to the scene.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that four men were found with stab wounds. Three were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; a fourth man is in a critical condition.
"Seven men were arrested and remain in custody," the Met said in a statement. "Police enquiries continue and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the public."
Footage and images shared on X showed a section of Bromley High Street cordoned off with an emergency vehicle in attendance. One local resident posted: "Been watching from my balcony! Endless sirens and all the various emergency services attending."
Forensic officers and a crime scene photographer were working both inside and outside the KFC restaurant on the High Street, with evidence markers visible on the ground.
The AA confirmed that part of the High Street was closed and traffic was slow in the surrounding area. Some 15 bus routes were diverted, including the 61, 208 and 119. Parts of Elmfield Road and Ethelbert Road were also closed, and Church House Gardens park was cordoned off.
Bromley and Biggin Hill MP Peter Fortune wrote on X that he was aware of the incident and acknowledged residents' safety concerns. "I will remain in close contact with the police as they continue to investigate this incident," Fortune said.
