Seven individuals charged with causing damage to the Trump Turnberry golf resort in South Ayrshire now face an additional allegation that their actions carried a "terrorist connection", BreakingNews.ie reports.

Police were called to the course on Maidens Road, Turnberry, at around 4.40am on 8 March 2025, after graffiti was sprayed across the grounds of US President Donald Trump's five-star hotel and golf resort. The words "Gaza is not for sale" were painted on the lawn, while red paint was applied to the clubhouse exterior.

According to a copy of the indictment seen by the Press Association, the defendants "did maliciously damage property" at the site. The document states they are accused of digging up turf, spraying glyphosate weedkiller on the fairways and greens, painting political and offensive slogans on grass, walls and pillars, scoring a slogan into the turf, damaging a sprinkler system causing flooding, and destroying a light fixture.

The indictment further states it will be proved that the offence "was aggravated by reason of having a terrorist connection."

The seven defendants named in the proceedings are Kieran Robson, 35; Uzma Bashir, 56; Ricky Southall, 34; Autumn Taylor Ward, 22; Rebecca Sian Davies, 29; John Moxley, 58; and Dylan Chiaramello, 24.

Three of the group — Robson, Bashir and Davies — face an additional charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice by travelling to and from Trump Turnberry in vehicles bearing false registration plates.

The seven had been due to appear at the High Court in Glasgow for a preliminary hearing on Monday, but the court granted an order moving the hearing to October.

The Crown Office said it would not comment on a live case.
