Two separate stabbings in Newry and Lurgan on Sunday led to three arrests on suspicion of attempted murder. One victim is in serious condition in hospital.

Ca.news.yahoo.com reports that three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following two separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland on Sunday.

Police were called to a property in the Woodhill area of Newry shortly after 06:00 BST, where officers found a man with stab wounds inside the house. A man and a woman, both in their 30s, were subsequently arrested in connection with that incident.

In a second attack the same day, a man in his 40s was stabbed in the back at a property on Grattan Street in Lurgan. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. Armed response officers attended the scene, and a 34-year-old man was arrested a short distance away.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has appealed for anyone with information on either incident to come forward.
