Tottenham drug dealer jailed for Southampton county lines operation and near-fatal stabbing

Miron Ramadani, 20, of Risley Avenue, Tottenham, has been sentenced to six years and 10 months' detention at Winchester Crown Court after admitting his role in a north London gang that supplied heroin and crack cocaine to Southampton, bbc.com reports.

The operation came to light following a near-fatal stabbing in Watts Park on 30 March 2017. One of Ramadani's runners stabbed a 44-year-old man in the neck, severing a vein. The victim survived only after a passing nurse intervened and administered first aid.

Prosecuting counsel Jodie Mittell told the court the gang operated as part of a so-called 'county lines' network, in which drug suppliers based in large cities export narcotics to smaller towns. Ramadani and two runners made at least 11 day trips from Tottenham to Southampton in March 2017, selling to more than 50 clients on each visit, Mittell said.

Mrs Justice May, the sentencing judge, stated that the gang had targeted the stabbing victim in the belief he had previously stolen drugs from them, but "had the wrong man."

Ramadani pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs, six counts of possession with intent to supply, and one count of possession of criminal property — £1,000 found in a safe at his home. Mrs Justice May described him as a "voluntary and active participant in serious organised drug dealing."

Two further men are due to be sentenced in January in connection with the stabbing and the wider drugs conspiracy.
