Violent robbery and racial abuse at Walsall railway station — BTP seeks two teenage girls

Two men were assaulted and robbed at Walsall railway station on 15 March. British Transport Police have released images of two teenage girls they wish to speak to.

Two men attacked and robbed at Walsall station after scooter dispute

British Transport Police (BTP) detectives are appealing for information following a violent assault and robbery at Walsall railway station on the evening of 15 March, kidderminstershuttle.co.uk reports.

At around 10pm, two men arrived at the station to catch a train, one of them accompanied by a scooter. As they made their way to the platform, two teenage girls approached and asked to ride the scooter. When one of the men refused, the girls began to follow them.

One of the girls then threatened the victim, who was also subjected to racial abuse. Both men were followed onto a train carriage, where they were assaulted. The scooter was thrown onto the platform; as one victim went to retrieve it, he was attacked a second time.

Inside the carriage, the pair continued to threaten both men and attempted to steal a bag from one of them, ultimately taking some of his personal property. Both victims sustained cuts and bruises during the attack.

BTP has released images of two teenage girls officers believe may be able to assist their enquiries. A spokesperson said: "Anyone who recognises them is asked to text BTP on 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 617 of March 15."
