Officers from the 103rd Precinct responded to a 911 call and found the victim outside the Seduction Restaurant and Bar at 173-12 Jamaica Ave., in the Jamaica neighbourhood, just before 1 a.m. He had sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest.
Emergency medical services transported him to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have not yet released the victim's name, pending notification of his family.
Sources close to the investigation told amny.com that the victim is believed to have become involved in a dispute with the suspect directly in front of the nightclub moments before the attack. The reasons for the altercation were not yet known.
The suspect is described as a man with a slim build. Sources familiar with the case said he was last seen wearing a black skullcap, a gold chain, a blue t-shirt, navy blue sweatpants with white stripes, and white sneakers. He fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
