A man opened fire on officers after barricading himself following a domestic assault in Moneta, Va. Caleb Hodges, 26, is held without bond.

A domestic disturbance escalated into a barricade situation and exchange of gunfire with law enforcement in Moneta, Virginia, wsls.com reports.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) received a call about an "unknown situation" at a residence on Oldfield Road at around 5:10 a.m. on Saturday, 31 October. Deputies arriving at the scene found that a man had allegedly assaulted family members inside the home before barricading himself within.

The suspect then discharged a firearm in the direction of officers on multiple occasions. After approximately 30 minutes, authorities brought the situation under control and took 26-year-old Caleb Hodges safely into custody.

Hodges faces multiple charges and is currently being held without bond pending further court proceedings.
