Missing child found, Harris County woman jailed over alleged trafficking operation
A missing minor has been reunited with family and a woman taken into custody after north Harris County authorities uncovered a suspected human trafficking operation, fox26houston.com reports.
Brandi Lowe, 35, is being held in Harris County on a charge of promotion of prostitution. Her bond has been set at $20,000.
Precinct 4 officials said they received a tip about a missing child last Thursday and opened an investigation. Detectives gathered information indicating the girl was being trafficked, then obtained a search warrant for a residential property.
Officers executed the warrant but did not find the child. Lowe was, however, identified at the premises. Further investigation revealed she had posted the child online for trafficking purposes, according to Precinct 4 authorities, prompting the prostitution charge and her subsequent arrest.
A second property came to investigators' attention during the inquiry. Authorities obtained and executed a search warrant for that address, where the child was found and subsequently returned to her family.
No additional details about the case have been released. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office is the source of record for the investigation.
