A 19-year-old Murfreesboro woman has been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery after a man was held inside an apartment at gunpoint because he could not withdraw cash to pay for hairstyling services, wsmv.com reports.
Makayla Brown was arrested Thursday, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department.
The 23-year-old victim told officers that Brown and several men entered his vehicle and accompanied him to multiple locations while he attempted, without success, to withdraw money from an ATM. The group then took his phone and car keys, robbed him at gunpoint and forced him into an apartment on St. Andrews Drive.
The victim managed to escape by jumping from the apartment balcony and ran to a nearby store to contact police.
Murfreesboro detectives and Special Operations Unit officers subsequently executed a search warrant at the apartment, recovering two firearms and the victim's car keys.
Brown is currently held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $40,000 bond.
