Five adults were found dead late Friday night at a residential property in south Georgia, in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide involving family members who shared the home, atlantanewsfirst.com reports.

Douglas police and Coffee County sheriff's deputies were dispatched at approximately 11:09 p.m. to the Touchton Wood neighbourhood following a report of an active shooter. One of the victims placed the emergency call, according to police.

Officers discovered four adults dead inside the home. A fifth victim was transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center, where the person subsequently died.

Investigators said they have found no indication of any ongoing threat to the public. The names of the deceased have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
