Cocaine and cash found at Rochester home after warrant execution
A search warrant carried out at a northwest Rochester home last week resulted in the seizure of 1.09 pounds of cocaine, krocnews.com reports. The operation followed a period of surveillance during which officers observed suspected drug sales activity at the property.
A criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Tuesday names 46-year-old Vu Vuong Ly of Rochester as the suspect. According to the complaint, officers observed Ly conducting drug sales from the residence from mid-October through last week. Police stopped multiple individuals seen leaving the home and found them in possession of cocaine.
When officers executed the search warrant on Thursday, they recovered a large quantity of cocaine, $1,500 in cash, a digital scale bearing cocaine residue, and plastic baggies consistent with drug packaging.
Ly faces one count each of first-degree drug sales and first-degree drug possession. Court records show he was sentenced to 98 months in prison in 2010 following a first-degree drug conviction in Dodge County. The complaint notes that the latest seizure occurred within ten years of his release from that sentence.
Ly appeared in court on Tuesday, where conditional bail was set at $200,000. He is due to return to court next month.
