St. Paul Police are investigating a domestic shooting on Arkwright Street after a man shot and injured his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself, kstp.com reports.

At 3:46 p.m., officers were dispatched following a 911 call from a woman who said her boyfriend was threatening to shoot her. Before police could reach her location, the man had already opened fire on the woman and then shot himself.

When officers arrived, they found the woman outside an apartment complex. They administered first aid on the scene before transporting her to hospital. Her injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Inside the apartment, police located the man suffering from a gunshot wound believed to be self-inflicted. He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

St. Paul Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
