Manassas City police confirmed that several human trafficking victims were also recovered during the operation, though officials did not specify the exact number.
The investigation was triggered by a tip received through Crime Solvers and was conducted jointly with Manassas Park, Fairfax County, and Prince William County police, alongside several federal and local agencies.
Police identified the three suspects as Yanzhi Mei, 44, Yanwu Glick, 65, and Stephan Smarr, 60. Mei was booked on charges of prostitution, sexual battery, and two counts each of keeping a bawdy place and aiding prostitution. Glick and Smarr each face three counts of keeping a bawdy place and aiding prostitution. Glick was the only suspect held without bond.
Authorities also seized several hundred thousand dollars in cash, along with records and other documentation linked to the alleged prostitution operation. All six businesses associated with the investigation have been shut down.
