Florida TikToker arrested for GPS tracking and leaking victims' private data
A 36-year-old Florida man who describes himself on TikTok as a "demonologist" has been charged with a felony after tracking a woman through her phone's GPS and exposing the private information of two victims online, nbcmiami.com reports.
Mark Stephen Asea, of Port St. Lucie, faces a felony charge of offense against computer users. According to Port St. Lucie Police, both victims had originally approached Asea seeking technology assistance.
Police say Asea subsequently uploaded more than 100 TikTok videos targeting one of the women and published the private details of both victims on social media. His TikTok bio had at various points listed descriptions including "Narcissistic abuse survivor," "Former satanist," "Grey Hat Hacker," "Demonologist," and "Empath."
Asea was first arrested on stalking charges in April. That case was dropped the following month but was reopened on 24 September.
Bodycam footage of his second arrest shows an officer patting Asea down, while Asea laughs and remarks, "I'm doing alright. A lot better than back in April, I guess it was, when I last saw you." A second officer then warned him: "Mark, you've got nothing in you right? Because anything introduced to the jail is another charge."
Asea was booked into jail with bond set at $35,000.
