Three Detroit Men Charged Over Fatal Hazel Park Shooting

Three Detroit men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old Hazel Park resident in August, clickondetroit.com reports. Investigators believe the killing was carried out in retaliation for a fatal stabbing in Detroit that occurred the same day.

Terryon Anthony Brown, 20, Dashawn Deonte Clayborn-Marshall, 23, and Quintaz Eric Dyer, 21, each face charges of first-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and felony firearm, according to a Tuesday update from the Hazel Park Police Department.

Officers were called to a home in the 500 block of East George Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. on Aug. 3 following reports of gunshots inside the residence. They found Ryan Leslie Adams, 43, suffering from gunshot wounds. Adams was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Adams was the sole target of the attack. According to investigators, Adams was suspected of fatally stabbing a person in Detroit during the early morning hours of Aug. 3, and his killing in Hazel Park is believed to have been an act of retaliation for that stabbing.

The Hazel Park Police Department's investigation identified the three men as suspects. The case was submitted to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, which authorised warrants charging all three.

Brown and Clayborn-Marshall were arraigned in Hazel Park District Court on Sept. 5; Dyer followed on Sept. 29. Bond was denied for all three defendants, court documents show.

A preliminary examination conference is scheduled for Oct. 27.
