Two Arrested Over Kingston Hit-and-Run, Victim Remains in Coma

Two people have been arrested in connection with an August hit-and-run in Kingston, New York, that left a pedestrian in a coma, patch.com reports.

Justin A. Greico, 25, and Katie M. Potter, 39, were taken into custody on Wednesday following a two-month investigation by the Kingston Police Department. The incident occurred on August 1 at the intersection of Broadway and Liberty Street, where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at approximately 11:30 p.m. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping.

The victim suffered serious physical injuries and was airlifted to Mid-Hudson Regional hospital. He was subsequently transferred to a long-term Intensive Care Unit, where he remains in a coma.

Both suspects face a lengthy list of charges, including second-degree reckless assault, second-degree vehicular assault, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, tampering with physical evidence, failing to report a personal injury accident, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation, first-degree falsifying business records, and fifth-degree insurance fraud.

Greico and Potter were processed and transferred to Ulster County Jail to await arraignment in Ulster County Court on Thursday morning.
