Missing firearm from Georgetown Police Station armoury still unaccounted for

One of four firearms stolen from Georgetown Police Station in June 2021 remains missing. All men jailed over the theft have since completed their sentences.

Georgetown armoury gun still missing five years on

One of four firearms that disappeared from the Georgetown Police Station armoury in June 2021 has never been recovered, Searchlight SVG reports. All men imprisoned in connection with the theft of the firearms and ammunition have since served their sentences.

Acting Commissioner of Police Trevor "Buju" Bailey addressed the matter on August 20, 2026, at a press briefing held at the Central Police Station in Kingstown. The briefing was called to discuss a surge in gun violence and serious crimes across St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Responding to a reporter's question, Bailey said all but one of the missing guns had been recovered "from the best of my knowledge."

Bailey added that the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is currently focused on stopping the flow of illegal firearms entering SVG and reaching the hands of criminals.
