Vermont mother and daughter face fraud charges after Kingstown arrests

Police arrested Morenika Cottle, a 35-year-old votes clerk from Vermont, and her mother Lisby Cottle, 56, on October 4, 2026, on multiple counts of obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception, stvincenttimes.com reports.

The charges against Morenika relate to a number of alleged monetary transactions involving several complainants in Kingstown at various points during 2026. The individual sums named in her charges range from EC$300.00 to EC$800.00 per transaction.

Lisby Cottle faces six separate counts, each involving an alleged payment of EC$450.00, said to have taken place in Kingstown between March and July 2026.

Both women appeared before the Serious Offences Court on October 5, where they each pleaded not guilty. The court granted each of them composite bail of EC$5,000.00 and ordered the surrender of all travel documents.
