Alan Molina, a young member of the provincial security forces based in Tres Arroyos, was fatally shot on Saturday while carrying out duties in a complex area of the Buenos Aires suburbs. The armed attack occurred during the early morning, at around nine in the morning, inside the settlement known as Ejército de los Andes, located in the town of Ciudadela, in the jurisdiction of the Tres de Febrero district.
The 26-year-old officer was carrying out ground surveillance duties alongside other members of the Neighbourhood Policing Force when he was struck by a bullet. His colleagues immediately transported him to Ramón Carrillo Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition and unresponsive due to the severity of his injuries. Medical professionals attempted to stabilise him, but the injuries to the right armpit region and other complications resulted in his death.
Molina had received his diploma from the police academy only in February of this year and, two months ago, had become a father for the first time. He lived in the south-western part of Buenos Aires Province.
According to La Brújula 24, investigators are working in the area to clarify the circumstances of the homicide.
