The Río Negro Police transferred on Tuesday to officers of the National Gendarmerie a Chilean citizen arrested on 10 July in Bariloche, according to barinoticias.com.ar. The man will be transferred to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires to answer before the federal judiciary for pending judicial cases.
The original arrest took place during an operation by personnel from Bariloche's Police Station 27. Officers identified the subject and an accompanying person while driving a vehicle with a seizure request issued hours earlier by a police station in Cipolletti.
Upon verifying the background of the vehicle's occupants, police detected that the Chilean citizen had an active arrest warrant issued by a national court. This circumstance prompted National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 21 of the City of Buenos Aires to formally request the internal and interjurisdictional extradition of the detainee.
Once administrative and legal procedures were completed, the man was transferred to officers from Region V of the National Gendarmerie, who take charge of his transfer to the capital. Upon arrival, the detainee will be placed in the Southern Detainee Admission Centre of the City Police, where he will remain at the disposal of the national judiciary.
