A 49-year-old woman, resident of La Plata, Buenos Aires province, was taken into custody after ramming and dragging a Traffic Police officer during a control operation in Córdoba province.
The incident was recorded on Sunday afternoon at a checkpoint installed at kilometre 739 of National Route 9. According to reporting by Perfil, uniformed officers intercepted a Ford Raptor pickup truck driven by the accused woman, who was travelling with a 53-year-old man.
When the officers issued her a fine for driving above the permitted speed, the driver lost her temper. She destroyed the procedure papers and abruptly raised the vehicle window. One of the operation's personnel had her hand near the window at that moment, became trapped and was dragged along the ground for a considerable distance.
The driver fled the scene, but authorities launched a search operation that located the vehicle at the entrance to Colonia Caroya. At that point, the woman was apprehended and taken to the police station for the courts to determine her procedural status.
The man accompanying her was not deprived of his liberty, although investigators are evaluating whether he played any role in the incident. The injured officer was attended to and her state of health is not a cause for concern.
