Police arrested a 28-year-old suspect and seized weapons and other items from two properties in the Milagrosa Norte neighbourhood during an investigation into a shooting that left a person injured.

Police from the first police station in La Paz carried out several house searches on Friday ordered by the local Guarantees Court. The operations sought to gather evidence about an incident in which an individual sustained gunshot wounds. The information was published by the Examedia portal.
The searches were conducted at two houses in the Milagrosa Norte neighbourhood. Uniformed officers carried out a thorough search to find items related to the case. During the operations, the force seized a short-barrelled calibre 22 weapon with half a dozen rounds of ammunition, three mobile devices and a 150 cc motorcycle. All the material was added to the judicial file.
During one of the operations, officers apprehended a 28-year-old man, who was placed under the charge of the magistrate in charge. The accused remains in custody whilst investigations progress to establish whether he played any role in the incident under analysis.
The person injured by the projectiles was transferred to San Martín Hospital in Paraná given the serious nature of his injuries, where he receives specialist care. His clinical progress is being kept confidential and is being monitored constantly by medical staff.
The courts are directing the investigation in order to clarify how the attack occurred, the circumstances surrounding it and the participation of each individual involved. The evidence collected in the searches will be analysed by experts as part of the development of the criminal proceedings.
