The Concordia police force carried out two raids in the midst of celebrations over Argentina's victory, discovering drug distribution operations in both homes. The operation was triggered following an investigation that began when an image of a firearm circulated on digital platforms, according to 7Paginas.
In the first property, officers found two young men packaging cocaine. When they noticed the arrival of uniformed police, one threw the substance through an opening and attempted to escape, although he was quickly captured.
The material seized at that location included almost one hundred grams of cocaine, some portions of marijuana, mobile devices, a precision scale, pieces of plastic wrapping, a knife with traces of the drug and sums of cash.
Prosecutor José Arias ordered that the younger of the two, aged 17, be properly identified, whilst his companion was remanded in custody accused of possessing narcotics for sale, with the aggravating factor of involving someone under 18 years of age.
The second raided home yielded mobile phones, money and 85 cocaine bags already prepared for alleged sale. A 27-year-old man was arrested there, likewise charged with possession with intent to distribute. Notably, this man was already under house arrest for a federal drug trafficking case and was required to complete almost a year more of his sentence.
The court retained possession of all seized items. The investigation continues to determine whether there are further participants in this illegal chain.
