The incident occurred at a residence located on Calle Asunción 2876. Police sources informed Argentina News Agency that Marcelo Roberto Tesio argued with his wife, Silvia Beatriz Mina, 64, and allegedly attacked her with a knife, inflicting fatal wounds on various parts of her body.
Staff from Police Station 6 arrived at the scene and proceeded to arrest the suspect. Facing the officers, Tesio attempted to justify the crime with a single phrase: "It got out of hand".
The detainee was transported under police custody to a local hospital, where he received treatment for cut wounds to his arms and neck. Meanwhile, the scene was preserved for investigation by forensic experts from the Scientific Police.
Merlo's Women and Family Police Station checked the records and confirmed that the victim had not filed any previous complaints of domestic violence. The blade allegedly used by Tesio was seized as part of the initial proceedings.
Judicial Unit for Investigation No. 11 of the Judicial Department of Morón intervened in the investigation and classified the case as aggravated homicide based on the relationship between the parties, framed as the crime of femicide in accordance with Article 80, Section 11, of the Penal Code. The only sentence provided for this crime is life imprisonment.
