Man stabs wife to death in Merlo after 39 years of marriage

A 64-year-old man stabbed his wife to death in their home at Calle Asunción 2800 in Merlo, Buenos Aires province, and turned himself in to authorities after committing the crime. According to reports from la100.cienradios.com, it was a family member of the couple who alerted 911.
Marcelo Tesio stabbed Silvia Beatriz Mina, 62, fatally. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found her on the ground with no signs of life, surrounded by blood from multiple stab wounds.
Tesio was found a few metres from his wife. He had cuts on his arms and neck, in what appeared to be an attempted suicide, although he was conscious. He was taken to Mariano y Luciano de la Vega Hospital in Moreno, where he received medical attention.
When approached by police, the man stated: "I lost control." This spontaneous confession led to his immediate detention once he was discharged from hospital. A knife was seized at the crime scene as a possible murder weapon and submitted for analysis.
The case was assigned to prosecutor Leandro Vaccaro, head of UFI No. 11 in Morón, who is leading the investigation.
The couple had been married for 39 years. Sources close to the case indicated that there were no previous reports of domestic violence. In fact, shortly before the crime, both had posted a photo of their wedding on social media to celebrate the anniversary, with a message in which they emphasised that, despite difficulties, they had built a family with effort, patience and love.
