Homicide in José C. Paz: 25-year-old man arrested for murder of Marcos González

Man arrested as suspected killer of young man shot at friends' gathering
A 25-year-old man was arrested in José C. Paz, Buenos Aires Province, accused of shooting dead Marcos Elian González on 17 June, novabonaerense.com reported based on police sources.
The crime occurred at the corner of Goleta Sarandí and Rastreador Fournier. According to the investigation, González was sharing alcoholic drinks with other people when two men arrived at the location. Following an argument, one of them drew a weapon and fired several times; the bullets struck the victim's chest, who died at the scene despite intervention by SAME personnel.
The investigation was carried out by the José C. Paz Sub DDI under the direction of the UFI N°20 of the San Martín Judicial Department. Investigators reconstructed the suspect's movements and analysed statements until they identified the alleged attacker.
With the evidence obtained, the court ordered three simultaneous raids at different addresses in the district. One of them resulted in the arrest of Alan Agustín Vera, aged 25. The other two operations yielded no results.
During the operation, a .38 calibre revolver with no visible markings or serial number was seized, together with two rounds of ammunition of the same calibre. The weapon will be subjected to forensic examination to determine whether it was used in the homicide.
The prosecutor in the case approved the procedure, ordered notification of the detainee's rights and ordered his transfer to court to give a statement. The investigation continues to determine whether there were other participants in the attack.
