An 18-year-old woman ended up in custody in Villa Carlos Paz, Córdoba, after striking a police officer while the force was conducting public order operations during celebrations of the national team's victory.
The incident occurred this Tuesday, minutes before six in the evening, in the area known as Cruz Mayor. There, personnel from the Punilla Departmental station were attempting to separate a group of people involved in a dispute that escalated to violence.
Whilst the uniformed officers worked to disperse the altercation, the young woman lunged at one of them and struck him with her fist on the left side of his head, at ear level. The impact caused injuries to the officer.
The officers at the scene proceeded to immobilise the assailant and transported her to the police station in the mountain town. She was held there pending decisions from the magistrate in charge.
