A 29-year-old man ended up under arrest early this morning in Concepción del Uruguay, province of Entre Ríos, after a patrol caught him whilst forcing his way into a property on Carosini Street at number 330, according to reporting by the outlet Examedia.

When uniformed officers discovered him, the individual mounted a bicycle and escaped rapidly by cycling in the wrong direction down several city-centre streets. Upon reaching the height of Chacabuco, he discarded the bicycle and continued his flight on foot.

Police mounted a cordoning operation in the railway tracks area and managed to locate him at 14 de Julio and Boulevard Yrigoyen. There they found him just as he was attempting to hide inside a public waste container.

Forensic experts attended the scene to carry out the corresponding tasks. The duty prosecutor ordered the bicycle — a Firebird 29-inch frame in black — to be retained as a preventive measure and ordered that the detained person be transferred to the holding cell at First Police Station, where he was held pending the charge of attempted theft aggravated by breaking and entering.
