Young people arrested in Concordia for preparing cocaine doses while celebrating the match
A police operation in the city of Concordia, province of Entre Ríos, resulted in the arrest of two people who were inside a house organising portions of cocaine for subsequent distribution. The intervention occurred whilst the streets were celebrating the national team's victory.
According to reporting by the outlet 7Páginas, the investigation originated from an image shared on digital platforms showing a pistol. As a result, simultaneous raids were ordered at various properties.
At the first property intervened, uniformed officers caught two young men in the exact moment they were making small bags of white substance. One of those involved, upon noticing the presence of the officers, attempted to eliminate the evidence by throwing it out through an opening and fleeing the scene, but failed to evade the agents.
Among the objects seized were almost one hundred grams of cocaine, several packages with marijuana, mobile devices, a precision scale, nylon material for packaging, a knife with drug residue, and a sum of money.
Magistrate José Arias ordered that the seventeen-year-old adolescent be properly identified, whilst the second participant was placed under arrest for the alleged offence of accumulating narcotics with intent to sell, a charge aggravated by the participation of a minor in the operation.
At another property raided the same day, officers seized telephone devices, money, and eighty-five packages of cocaine already divided and apparently destined for sale. On that occasion a twenty-seven-year-old man was arrested, accused of the same criminal charge.
Police sources confirmed that this individual was already serving home detention for a federal drug trafficking case, with almost a year of his sentence still pending.
The magistracy received all the seized material and the investigation remains open to determine whether there are more members in the distribution chain.
