Pity Álvarez returns to the dock after hospitalisation for high blood pressure and elevated glucose levels

The trial against Cristian "Pity" Álvarez, accused of the murder of Cristian Díaz in 2018, resumes on Monday 7 September at 10.30 hours in Criminal and Correctional Oral Court No. 29 in Buenos Aires City, cadena3.com reported. The musician will be present in the courtroom, as occurred in previous sessions of the oral hearing.

The hearing on Wednesday 2 September had been suspended after Álvarez suffered a health episode in court. The judicial authorities immediately requested intervention from the emergency medical services system.

The SAME attended the building and established that the musician was experiencing a spike in blood pressure and high glucose levels. Hours later it was decided to transfer him to Fernández Hospital, where Álvarez signed himself out and was discharged the same day.

Sebastián Queijeiro, one of the defence lawyers, spoke to the press about his client's current condition. According to Queijeiro, Álvarez is accompanied by his sister and suffers from "substance abuse issues". The defence lawyer added: "It is not that I want to place him in the position of a victim, but there is an absent State. His sister assists him in cooking because he is a danger to himself".
