Trial for aggravated involuntary homicide begins in Concepción del Uruguay
The trial against Juan Enrique Ruiz Orrico begins on 18 February before the Court of Trial and Appeals. The hearings will continue until 27 February.
Criminal trial against Ruiz Orrico to be held over two weeks
On Wednesday 18 February, at 9 a.m., the oral trial against Juan Enrique Ruiz Orrico will begin in Concepción del Uruguay, charged with aggravated involuntary homicide, according to jusentrerios.gov.ar. The hearings will take place in the courtroom of the Court of Trial and Appeals in that city and will extend over 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 February, always at the same time.
Judge Darío Crespo, of the Court of Trial and Appeals of Gualeguay, will preside over the trial. Public Prosecutor Eduardo Santo will represent the Public Prosecutor's Office, whilst Mario Arcusin will act as private complainant. The defence of the defendant will be handled by solicitors Leopoldo Lambruschini, Félix Pérez and Leandro Monje.
The opening and closing arguments will be broadcast live via the YouTube channel of the Information Service of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
Public access and press accreditation
Entry to the courtroom will be available between 8 and 8.50 a.m.; at 9 a.m. the doors will close and the trial will begin. Access will be subject to the capacity of the venue.
Those attending will be required to present their National Identity Document (DNI) and will not be allowed to bring bags, rucksacks or mate equipment. Journalists will need to be accredited in advance with the Information and Communication Service of the STJ.
