A 49-year-old motorist from the city of La Plata was taken into police custody after assaulting and injuring a Highway Police officer during an operation conducted on National Route 9, at kilometre 739, in Córdoba province.
The incident occurred during Sunday afternoon. Officers stopped a Ford Raptor that was driving at excessive speed. The woman was driving, accompanied by a male passenger aged 53.
When the officer attempted to issue a fine, the driver flew into a rage. She destroyed the citation paperwork and suddenly raised the car window, trapping the officer's right hand. The vehicle immediately began moving, dragging the police officer along the asphalt for several metres.
After fleeing the scene, the suspect was apprehended following a search operation. The car was found at the entrance to La Patat, within the municipality of Colonia Caroya. There, officers managed to detain her and transferred her to the police station for the courts to determine her legal status.
