On the afternoon of this Tuesday, a 45-year-old man was arrested in Villa Krause, in the interior of San Juan province. The incident occurred when the resident of a house located on Carrascal Street returned from a brief trip to purchase construction materials and found a stranger in the rear of his property, according to local media Diario 13 San Juan.
The intruder, later identified as Cristian Marcos Herrera, was in the back corridor of the house. He was carrying a backpack containing a Oleo-Mac brand chainsaw, model 941 CX, with orange and black markings.
Upon noticing the intrusion, the homeowner requested assistance from the workers who were laboring on the adjacent construction. Together, they managed to immobilise the alleged perpetrator and block any attempted escape, keeping him under surveillance until the appropriate authorities arrived.
Minutes later, officers from the South Radio Command unit travelled to the scene after being alerted through a call to the emergency number 911. The agents formalised the arrest of Herrera and seized both the tool and the bag in which he was carrying it.
Subsequently, representatives of the Early Care Unit intervened at the scene. Assistant prosecutor Sebastián Miranda confirmed that his colleague Oscar Oropel would travel to the location. After completing preliminary proceedings, it was decided to activate the summary proceedings for flagrant offence.
