A man was arrested after being discovered with nearly 1.5 kilograms of cocaine concealed in the waste bin of a coach travelling between Salta and Neuquén.

Personnel from the "Trancas" Checkpoint, under the jurisdiction of Squadron 55 "Tucumán" of the National Gendarmerie, stopped a long-distance coach that was travelling on the Salta–Neuquén route. The intervention took place on National Route No. 9, in the area of kilometre 1,358.
During the inspection, a drug detection dog trained by the institution marked a possible anomaly in the waste receptacle of the vehicle's toilet. Following this alert, officers proceeded to examine the indicated area.
There they located two packages with the appearance of tablets. Through immediate testing with Narcotest reagents, it was confirmed that the substance was cocaine hydrochloride. The combined weight of both packages was 1,480 grammes.
At the request of Federal Court No. 2 based in Tucumán, the detention was ordered of the individual identified as the owner of the illicit merchandise, as well as the seizure of the substance.
