Relatives and associates of a man arrested in Villa Etelvina attacked the 37th Police Station of Caucete, leaving one officer injured and a police vehicle damaged.

During the early hours of Wednesday, the surroundings of the 37th Police Station in the Caucete department, in San Juan Province, Argentina, were the scene of serious disturbances. A group of individuals attacked the police facility after a man was taken into custody.
The arrest took place in the Pie de Palo neighbourhood area, within Villa Etelvina. Once uniformed officers brought the suspect to the police station, his relatives and friends arrived at the location to lodge complaints, which resulted in a confrontation involving solid objects being thrown against the structure and police vehicles.
As a result of the assault, a patrol vehicle sustained broken glass in two windows, whilst an officer suffered injuries of various kinds that required medical attention.
The Generic Crimes unit (UFI Delitos Genéricos) assumed the investigation and issued preliminary orders to locate those who participated in the incident. At present, no persons have been detained in connection with the disturbance.
