Fugitive with three arrest warrants for homicide and robbery arrested in Monserrat

A 27-year-old man with three active arrest warrants was detained on a public street at Santiago del Estero 100, in the neighbourhood of Monserrat, according to argentina.gob.ar. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the presiding judges for the offences of aggravated homicide and armed robbery.
The court has attributed to him participation in a robbery followed by death that occurred in 2019, a case being processed before the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 45, headed by Dr. María Alejandra Provitola. The Criminal and Correctional Oral Court No. 5, headed by Dr. Cinthia Raquel Oberlander, also charged him with an aggravated homicide committed in October 2024. Both incidents took place in the settlement known as "Villa 31", in the neighbourhood of Retiro, and in both cases firearms were used.
The investigation had been initiated by the City Police. In May of the previous year, the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecution Office No. 20, headed by Dr. Carlos Donoso Castex, tasked the Fugitive Search Division of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) with locating the fugitive.
Subsequent fieldwork made it possible to identify possible hideouts in Ingeniero Budge and in areas near La Plata. Faced with the pressure of the operation, the suspect reportedly returned to Buenos Aires City, where he began working on construction projects in Monserrat.
With the support of the Cybercrime Technical Department, a surveillance operation was set up in the area until his whereabouts were located. During the procedure, two mobile phones of interest to the case were seized.
