Two vehicles with falsified papers recovered following raids in Santiago del Estero
Two separate police interventions at different points in Santiago del Estero province resulted in the seizure of two vehicles that presented irregularities in their documentation.
The first intervention took place in the América del Sur neighbourhood in the provincial capital. There, uniformed officers discovered a Toyota Hilux truck whose registration plates appeared suspicious. Upon checking the details, the officers confirmed that the engine and chassis numbers did not match what was declared in the papers presented. Subsequent investigations revealed that the unit had been reported as stolen in September 2024 in Buenos Aires province, and the Argentine Federal Police had requested its apprehension.
In parallel, a second operation was mounted at the intersection of San Martín Avenue and Alem Street in the city of La Banda. A Ford Mondeo was located there. Although the engine and chassis numbers were legal, a search through judicial computer systems showed that a valid retention order existed, originating from a recent report in Salta.
Both vehicles were seized by order of the prosecutors in charge and transported to police headquarters, where they will remain whilst the corresponding legal procedures are completed.
